Open Tuning 2020 is now a Virtual Music Festival!
This year’s festival will feature performers playing sets from their homes on June 6th.
The ongoing hazard of Covid-19 has made it unsafe to gather in large groups. So, in the name of public health responsibility, we have made the decision to alter the festival’s our usual format. Instead of our usual live performance venues, this year we encourage performers to share their music virtually by performing from the comfort of their own homes.
On June 6th, artists can join the festival by sharing their live streaming or pre-recorded performances on their social media feeds, and by using the hashtag #opentuning20 to help audiences find them. Using this hashtag will also allow us to share and promote performers as best we can.
We understand that unfortunately this year’s festival format may not be achievable by all participants. Hopefully many will see at this as an opportunity to explore new performance mediums.
We’d like to thank all of you for your continued support and interest in the festival. Keep playing, listening and supporting music, and we look forward to bringing the festival back to it’s regular format once it is safe to do so.
